Acceptance of Assignment to Job Search, Training and Work Programs. An individual for whom the job search, training and work programs established under Article IXA are applicable must accept assignment to such programs. The Illinois Department and the local governmental unit shall determine, pursuant to rules and regulations, sanctions for persons failing to comply with the requirements under this Section. However, no participant shall be sanctioned for failure to satisfy job search requirements before a full assessment of the participant's job readiness and employability, except that for those persons subject to the job search program operated under this Section an assessment as defined by rule at the time of intake will meet the assessment requirement. No participant shall be sanctioned for failure to satisfy the minimum number of employer contacts if the participant made a good faith effort.
