Text
(a)The Health Equity and Access Fund is hereby created as a special fund in the State treasury and may receive moneys from any source, public or private, including moneys appropriated to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services. Interest earned on moneys in the Fund shall be deposited into the Fund.
(b)Subject to appropriation, moneys in the Fund may be used by the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to pay for medical expenses or grants that advance health equity initiatives in Illinois.
(c)The Department of Healthcare and Family Services may adopt rules to implement and administer the health equity initiative described in this Section.
