§ 45-100 — Electric vehicles

For purposes of this Section, "electric vehicle" means a vehicle that is exclusively powered by and refueled by electricity, must be plugged in to charge or utilize a pre-charged battery, and is permitted to operate on public roadways. "Electric vehicle" does not include hybrid electric vehicles and extended-range electric vehicles that are also equipped with conventional fueled propulsion or auxiliary engines. For purposes of this section, "Manufactured in Illinois" means, in the case of electric vehicles, that design, final assembly, processing, packaging, testing, or other process that adds value, quality, or reliability occurs in Illinois.
