(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2028) Sec. 43.5. HIV prophylaxis. In accordance with a standing order by a physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches or the medical director of a county or local health department or a standing order by the Department of Public Health, a pharmacist may provide patients with prophylaxis drugs for human immunodeficiency virus pre-exposure prophylaxis or post-exposure prophylaxis. A pharmacist may provide initial assessment and dispensing of prophylaxis drugs for human immunodeficiency virus pre-exposure prophylaxis or post-exposure prophylaxis.
