§ 25-14

(Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2027) Sec. 25-14. Mandatory reports. (a) If a cemetery authority receives a consumer complaint that is not resolved to the satisfaction of the consumer within 60 days of the complaint, the cemetery authority shall advise the consumer of the right to seek investigation by the Department and may direct the consumer to the sign posted in its office as required by Section 20-30 of this Act. Cemetery authorities shall report to the Department within 30 days after the settlement of or final judgment in any cause of action that alleges negligence, fraud, theft, misrepresentation, misappropriation, or breach of contract. (b) The State's Attorney of each county shall report to the Department all instances in which an individual licensed as a cemetery manager or customer service employee, or any individual listed on a licensed cemetery authority's application under this Act, is convicted or otherwise found guilty of the commission of any felony. The report shall be submitted to the Department within 60 days after conviction or finding of guilty.
