Provisions relating to Smart Grid Advanced Metering Infrastructure Deployment Plan.

(a)For purposes of this Section and Sections 16-108.7 and 16-108.8 of this Act: "Advanced Metering Infrastructure" or "AMI" means the communications hardware and software and associated system software that enables Smart Grid functions by creating a network between advanced meters and utility business systems and allowing collection and distribution of information to customers and other parties in addition to providing information to the utility itself. "Cost-beneficial" means a determination that the benefits of a participating utility's Smart Grid AMI Deployment Plan exceed the costs of the Smart Grid AMI Deployment Plan as initially filed with the Commission or as subsequently modified by the Commission
