§ 2310-690 — Cytomegalovirus public education

(a)In this Section: "CMV" means cytomegalovirus. "Health care professional and provider" means any physician, advanced practice registered nurse, physician assistant, hospital facility, or other person that is licensed or otherwise authorized to deliver health care services.
(b)The Department shall develop or approve and publish informational materials for women who may become pregnant, expectant parents, and parents of infants regarding:
(1)the incidence of CMV;
(2)the transmission of CMV to pregnant women and women who may become pregnant;
(3)birth defects caused by congenital CMV;
(4)methods of diagnosing congenital CMV; and (5) available preventive measures to avoid the infection of women who are pregnant or may become pregnant.
