(was 20 ILCS 2310/55.45) Sec. 2310-325. Donors of semen for artificial insemination; AIDS test; penalty.

(a)The Department shall by rule require that all donors of semen for purposes of artificial insemination be tested for evidence of exposure to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) or any other identified causative agent of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) prior to the semen being made available for that use.
(b)In performing the technique of human artificial insemination in this State, no person shall intentionally, knowingly, recklessly, or negligently use the semen of a donor who has not been tested in accordance with subsection (a), or the semen of a donor who has tested positive for exposure to HIV or any other identified causative agent of AIDS.
