Text
The Governor may appoint the initial Secretary of Human Services before July 1, 1997. The Senate may take action on the confirmation of the initial Secretary-designate before July 1, 1997. In order to assure a smooth transition on July 1, 1997, the initial Secretary may begin to make official decisions and take official action relating to the organization of the Department and the implementation of this Act as soon as he or she is confirmed by the Senate.
