§ 18-1

The provisions of this Article 18 shall be applicable only to and in municipalities operating under Article 6 of this Act. At every election in any municipality operating under Article 6 of this Act, each of the political parties shall have the right to designate a canvasser for each election precinct, who may make a canvass of the precinct in which he is appointed to act, not less than 20 nor more than 31 days previous to such election, for the purpose of ascertaining the names and addresses of the legal voters residing in such precinct. An authority signed by the executive director of the board of election commissioners, shall be sufficient evidence of the right of such canvasser to make a canvass of the precinct in which he is appointed to act.
