§ 1-18 — Cybersecurity

(a) Each election authority maintaining a website shall begin utilizing a ".gov" website address and a ".gov" electronic mail address for each employee within one year of the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly. The integrity of election authorities' websites and electronic mail addresses shall be protected using electronic mail security products provided by the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology or a third-party vendor. (b) Each election authority shall perform an organizational risk assessment through the Cyber Navigator Program on a biennial basis. (c) Each election authority shall begin performing monthly vulnerability scans to defend against cyber breaches within 6 months after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly. (d) Each election authority shall begin using endpoint detection and response security tools on all computers utilized by employees within one year of the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly.
