Text
(1)It is unlawful for any alien to vote in any election held in this state solely or in part for the purpose of electing or nominating any candidate to any elective office. Every person not entitled to vote, who fraudulently attempts to vote, or who, after being entitled to vote, attempts to vote more than once at any election, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
(2)It shall be an affirmative defense to the provisions of subsection (1) of this section that an alien reasonably believed at the time of voting in violation of this section that such person was a citizen of the United States.
