Any person who distributes samples of any drugs or medicine, or any corrosive, caustic, poisonous or other injurious substance, commits a simple misdemeanor unless the person deliverssuchintothehandsofacompetentperson,orotherwisetakesreasonableprecautions thatthesubstancewillnotbetakenbychildrenoranimalsfromtheplacewherethesubstance is deposited.
