Text
The certificate endorsed by the officer upon a deed or other instrument thus proved must state:
1.The title of the officer taking the proof.
2.Thatitwassatisfactorilyprovedthatthegrantorwasdead,orthatforsomeotherreason
the grantor’s attendance could not be procured in order to make the acknowledgment, or
that, having appeared, the grantor refused to acknowledge the same.
3.The name of the witness by whom proof was made, and that it was proved by the
witness that the instrument was executed and delivered by the person whose name is
thereunto subscribed as a party.
