Text
1.Following the first thirty days of commitment, the department shall suspend, but not
terminate, the eligibility of an eligible child who is an inmate of a public institution as defined
in 42 C.F.R. §435.1010, who is enrolled in the medical assistance program under this chapter
at the time of commitment to the public institution, and who remains eligible for medical
assistance under this chapter except for the eligible child’s institutional status, during the
entire period of the eligible child’s commitment to the public institution.
2.To the extent applicable, the public institution and the department shall comply with
§514I.8B, HEALTHY AND WELL KIDS IN IOWA PROGRAM 8
the reporting requirements and the expediting of the restoration of an eligible child’s medical
assistance benefits und
