Text
1.As used in this section, “planning period” means a period comprised of five consecutive
fiscal years each beginning July 1 and ending June 30.
2.Not later than January 10, 2022, and not later than January 10 of each subsequent
five-year period, the state geologist shall publish a new long-range budget plan for the next
planning period. The long-range budget plan shall describe how moneys appropriated,
expected to be appropriated, or otherwise available or expected to be available to the Iowa
geological survey for each fiscal year of that planning period are to be expended in a manner
that best allows the Iowa geological survey to exercise its powers and carry out its duties or
