Text
If a person violates or fails to obey a lawful order or requirement of the department of
transportation or the department of inspections, appeals, and licensing, the department of
transportationorthedepartmentofinspections, appeals, andlicensingshallapplybypetition
in the name of the state against the person, to the district court, alleging the violation or
failure to obey. The court shall hear and determine the matter set forth in the petition on

reasonable notice to the person, to be fixed by the court and to be served in the same manner
as an original notice for the commencement of action.
