1.
a.Moneys appropriated for purposes of public transit assistance under this chapter shall be expended for providing assistance to public transit for the development, improvement, and maintenance of public transit systems. Moneys received by the department by agreements, grants, gifts, or other means from individuals, companies or other business entities, or cities and counties for the purposes stated in this section shall be credited to the general fund of the state.
b.Moneys received by the department by agreements, grants, gifts, or other means and deposited into the state general fund as a result of this subsection are appropriated to the department for purposes of this subsection.
