Text
1.A school district may change the number of directors to either five or seven and may
also change its method of election of school directors to any method authorized by section
17 REORGANIZATION OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS, §275.37A
275.12 by submission of a proposal, stating the proposed new method of election, by the
school board of such district to the electors at an election held on a date specified in section
39.2, subsection 4, paragraph “c”. The school board shall notify the county commissioner of
electionswhoshallpublishnoticeoftheelectioninthemannerprovidedinsection49.53. The
election shall be conducted pursuant to chapters 39 through 53 by the county commissioner
of elections. Such proposal shall be adopted if it is approved by a majority of the votes cast
on the proposition.
