1.Asusedinthissection, “careeracademy”meansthesameasdefinedinsection256.125.
2.A career academy course may qualify as a concurrent enrollment course if it meets the
requirements of section 261E.8.
3.The school district providing secondary education under this section shall be eligible
for supplementary weighting under section 257.11, subsection 2, and the community college
shall be eligible for funds allocated pursuant to section 260C.18A.
4.Information regarding career academies shall be provided by the school district to a
§261E.10, SENIOR YEAR PLUS PROGRAM 10
student and the student’s parent or guardian prior to the development of the student’s career
and academic plan under section 279.61.
