As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires:
1.“Advisory council” means a council appointed by the school board of directors of a
charter school or an innovation zone consortium pursuant to section 256F.5, subsection 4.
2.“Attendance center” means a public school building that contains classrooms used for
instructional purposes for elementary, middle, or secondary school students.
3.“Charter school” means a charter school established in accordance with this chapter.
4.“Department” means the department of education.
5.“Innovation zone consortium” means a consortium of two or more school districts
and an area education agency in which one or more of the school districts are located,
that receives approval to establish an innovation zone school pursuant to this chapter
