Text
1.The director of the department shall be appointed by the governor, subject to
confirmationbythesenate, andshallserveatthepleasureofthegovernor. Thegovernorshall
set the salary of the director within the applicable salary range established by section 8A.461.
2.The director shall be the executive officer of the commission and shall be responsible
for implementing policy set by the commission. The director shall carry out programs and
policies as determined by the commission.
