Text
A commercial kennel shall only operate pursuant to a state license issued or renewed by
the department as provided in section 162.2A. A commercial kennel shall maintain records
as required by the department in order for the department to ensure the commercial kennel’s
compliance with the provisions of this chapter. A commercial kennel shall not purchase a
dog or cat from a commercial establishment that does not have a valid authorization issued
or renewed under this chapter or a similar authorization issued or renewed by another state.
