Text
1.A person who operates a commercial establishment without an authorization issued or
renewed by the department as required in section 162.2A is guilty of a simple misdemeanor
and each day of operation is a separate offense.
2.The failure of a person who owns or operates a commercial establishment to meet the
standard of care required in section 162.10A, subsection 1, is a simple misdemeanor. The
animals are subject to seizure and impoundment and may be sold or destroyed as provided
by rules which shall be adopted by the department pursuant to chapter 17A. The rules shall
provide for the destruction of an animal by a humane method, including by euthanasia.
3.The failure of a person who owns or operates a commercial establishment to meet the
