Text
A pet shop shall only operate pursuant to a state license issued or renewed by the
department pursuant to section 162.2A. The pet shop shall maintain records as required by
the department in order for the department to ensure the pet shop’s compliance with the
provisions of this chapter. A pet shop shall not purchase a dog or cat from a commercial
establishment that does not have a valid authorization issued or renewed under this chapter
or a similar authorization issued or renewed by another state.
