Text
To reduce and avoid adverse health conditions of inhabitants of the state, the department
shall initiate, conduct, and supervise screening and health care programs in order to detect
and predict congenital or inherited disorders. The department shall assist in the translation
andintegrationofgeneticandgenomicadvancesintopublichealthservicestoimprovehealth
outcomes throughout the life span of the inhabitants of the state.
