When the tax collector or tax commissioner has his insolvent list credited, it shall be the duty of the county governing authority allowing the list to retain a copy of the list and return the executions to the tax collector, who shall cause them to be placed in the hands of a levying officer for collection, to be levied and sales under the executions to be made in accordance with the laws governing sales under executions issued upon common-law judgments. The levying officer shall be entitled to the same fees as he is entitled to for other executions, plus 2 1/2 percent.
