(a)No county or municipal corporation shall levy or collect any fixed amount license, occupation, or professional tax upon real estate brokers, except at the place where any such real estate broker shall maintain a principal or branch office. The license, occupation, or professional tax shall permit the broker and the broker's affiliated associate brokers and salespersons to engage in all of the brokerage activities described in Code Section 43-40-1 without further licensing or taxing other than the state licenses issued pursuant to Chapter 40 of Title 43. No additional license, occupation, or professional tax shall be required of the broker's affiliated associate brokers or salespersons; provided, however, that, subject to the limitations of subsection (b) of this Code section, a municip
