Text

(a)The board is authorized to refuse to grant a license to an applicant, to suspend or revoke the license of a person licensed by the board, or to discipline a person licensed under this chapter or any antecedent law, upon a finding by a majority of the entire board that the licensee or applicant has:
(1)Failed to demonstrate the qualifications or standards for a license contained in this chapter or in the rules and regulations issued by the board, pursuant to specific statutory authority. It shall be incumbent upon the applicant to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the board that he or she meets all the requirements for the issuance of a license and, if the board is not satisfied as to the applicant's qualifications, it may deny a license without a prior hearing; provided, however, tha

Laws 19,§ 43, eff. 4/7/2005, in subsection (10), purported to amend Code Section43-50-27, relating to disciplinary action, emergency action and summary suspension, judicial review, reinstatement, investigatory powers, and voluntary surrender of license or registration in regard to the licensing and registration of veterinarians and veterinary technicians by the State Board of Veterinary Medicine, by striking "designated" and inserting in its place "designed" in paragraph (13) of subsection (a). As there is no Code Section43-50-27, the editors have determined that the change applies to this section.
