Text
Whenever any person owning lands in this state on any watercourse, may desire to erect dams for furnishing power for a water gristmill, electric light power, or other machine for public utility, and shall not have the fee simple title to the lands on the opposite side thereof, against which the petitioner would abut his or her dam, or surrounding lands which would be overflowed thereby, he or she may proceed to condemn such affected lands under the provisions of law relating to the condemnation of lands for other purposes.
