Text
The department shall plan a statewide beautification program for state transportation facilities and shall only expend funds for such program as specifically appropriated by the Legislature. A state beautification project grant requested under this section may not be initiated or funded until a maintenance agreement has been executed between the department and the appropriate local governmental entity. Beautification activities undertaken under this section are recognized by the Legislature as contributing to the prevention of litter.
