(a)To improve the health and safety of Delaware children and safeguard the environment, it is the goal of Delaware that 30% of school buses purchased by the State shall be electric vehicles in FY 2030. To this end, the Department of Education’s annual bus purchases must include at least the following percentage of electric-powered school buses in the corresponding year:

(b)The Department of Education shall submit an implementation report regarding the goals set forth in subsection (a) of this section annually on January 31, from 2025 through 2029.

(c)By January 31, 2030, the Department of Education shall submit a report detailing recommendations for future changes in the percentage targets for electric school bus purchases, and other recommendations for reduction of the carbon and env

(a) To improve the health and safety of Delaware children and safeguard the environment, it is the goal of Delaware that 30% of school buses purchased by the State shall be electric vehicles in FY 2030. (d) The reports in subsections (b) and (c) of this section shall be delivered to the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives, the Secretary of the Senate, the Director and the Librarian of the Division of Legislative Services, and the Public Archives.

(e) Implementation of this section is contingent upon the appropriation of sufficient funding.
