The Board of Social Work Examiners’ primary objective, to which all other objectives and purposes are secondary, is to protect the general public, specifically those who are direct recipients of services that this chapter regulates, from unsafe practices and occupational practices which tend to reduce competition or fix the price of services rendered. The Board achieves this objective through the effective control and regulation of the practice of social work and the licensure, control, and regulation of individuals who practice social work within Delaware. The Board’s secondary objectives are to maintain minimum standards of licensee competency and certain standards in the delivery of services to the public.
