§ 6840 — Definitions

As used in this subchapter:

(1)The term “civic organization” shall be defined as any nonprofit organization, which is the owner of parkland, or which has contracted with the State or a political subdivision thereof for the maintenance of parkland provided that: a. The organization is not organized for profit or is qualified as an exempt organization under § 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, as amended [26 U.S.C. § 501(c)]; b. No part of the net earnings of the organization inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual.
(2)The term “member of a staff” means any person or entity which: a. Is a member, board member, director or officer of a civic organization; or b. Is an employee of a civic organization.
