(a)Except as specified in the model policy adopted and promulgated pursuant to the provisions of subsection (b) of this section, on and after January 1, 2021, any police officer, as defined in section 7-294a, who is authorized to make arrests or who is otherwise required to have daily interactions with members of the public, shall be required to affix and prominently display on the outer-most garment of such officer's uniform the badge and name tag that has been issued to such officer by the law enforcement unit, as defined in section 7-294a, that employs such officer.
(b)Not later than December 31, 2020, the Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection and the Police Officer Standards and Training Council shall jointly develop and promulgate a model policy to implement the p
