§ 7-273k — Contracts for mass passenger transportation service. Grants. Borrowing powers.
Any transit district established under this chapter may contract with any person, group of persons or corporation, including but not limited to any common carrier or any agency of the state or of the United States, for the purpose of supporting, continuing, providing, establishing or improving systems or services for mass transportation of passengers. The district may, by itself or by agreement with others, support all or a portion of such systems or services, share in the costs or provide funds for such purpose. The district may apply for grants or financial assistance from any person, group of persons or corporation or from any agency of the state or of the United States and may make equipment or other facilities available to any common carrier under arrangements deemed suitable to suppo
