§ 54-216 — Payment for services.

(a) The Office of Victim Services or, on review, a victim compensation commissioner may order payment for services to any person determined to be eligible for such services in accordance with the provisions of sections 54-201 to 54-218, inclusive. Such services may include, but shall not be limited to, medical, psychiatric, psychological and social services and social rehabilitation services. (b) The Office of Victim Services or, on review, a victim compensation commissioner, may order that such services be provided to victims of child abuse and members of their families, victims of sexual assault and members of their families, victims of domestic violence and members of their families, members of the family of any victim of homicide, and children who witness domestic violence, including, but not limited to, children who are not related to the victim. For the purposes of this subsection, “members of their families” or “member of the family” does not include the person responsible for such child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence or homicide. (c) The Office of Victim Services may contract with any public or private agency for any services ordered under this section.
