Text

The Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection, in consultation with the Commissioner of Public Health, shall evaluate risk-based decision making related to the remediation of contaminated sites. The commissioner shall, within existing resources, engage independent experts in the field, with broad national experience, to conduct such evaluation and prepare a report that includes an assessment of the existing process of risk-based decision making including risk assessment and risk management tools utilized to protect public health, general welfare and the environment. Such evaluation and report shall also include identification of best practices in ecological and human health risk assessment and risk management used by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and other reg
