(a)For purposes of this section:
(1)“Department” means the Department of Public Health;
(2)“Hospital” means an establishment for the lodging, care and treatment of persons suffering from disease or other abnormal physical or mental conditions and includes inpatient psychiatric services in general hospitals;
(3)“Assistive personnel” means personnel who are not licensed by the Department of Public Health and who engage in specifically delegated patient care activities; and (4) “Direct care registered nurse” means a registered nurse licensed pursuant to chapter 378 whose primary responsibility is to provide direct patient care.
