§ 19a-361 — (Formerly Sec. 19-365). Basement living rooms.

In tenement houses, no room in the cellar or in the basement shall be constructed, altered, converted or occupied for living purposes, unless all of the following conditions are complied with:

(1)Such room shall be at least seven feet six inches high, in each part, from the floor to the ceiling;

(2)the ceiling of such room shall be at least four feet and six inches above the surface of the street or ground outside of or adjoining the same;

(3)all walls surrounding such room shall be damp-proof;

(4)the floor of such room shall be damp-proof and waterproof.
