§ 17b-307a — Medicaid reimbursement system incentivizing collaboration between primary care providers and behavioral and mental health care providers for HUSKY Health program members.

(a)As used in this section:

(1)“Collaborative Care Model” or “CoCM” means the integrated delivery of behavioral health and primary care services by a primary care team that includes a primary care provider, a behavioral care manager, a psychiatric consultant and a database used by the behavioral care manager to track patient progress;

(2)“CoCM codes” means a billing system developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that provide Medicare rates for services provided in the Collaborative Care Model; and (3) “HUSKY Health” has the same meaning as provided in section 17b-290 .

The commissioner may adopt the Collaborative Care Model to expand access to behavioral and mental health services for HUSKY Health program members and utilize the CoCM codes approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide reimbursement to participating providers. The commissioner may take into consideration the potential impact on federal reimbursement when implementing such system.
