Not later than July 1, 2018, the Commissioner of Transportation shall update design standards for roads in the state. Such design standards shall include, as appropriate, the standards contained within the National Association of City Transportation Officials Urban Bikeway Design Guide and the National Association of City Transportation Officials Urban Street Design Guide.
