Not later than January 1, 2022, the governing board of each institution of higher education shall adopt, and update as necessary, campus-wide policies and procedures regarding student mental health. Such policies and procedures shall include, but not be limited to, (1) the types of mental health services and mental health programming available to students each academic year, (2) protocols for leaves of absence that can be applied for medical reasons, and (3) the resources available for crisis response, imminent danger and psychiatric hospitalization.
