§ 10a-125b — Program to assist small and medium businesses that develop innovations in manufacturing technologies.

(a)For the purposes of this section, “small business” means a business located in Connecticut with fifty employees or less, and “medium business” means a business located in Connecticut with fifty-one to one hundred employees.

(b)The University of Connecticut at Storrs, or any campus thereof, in concert with the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, shall establish a program to assist small and medium businesses that develop innovations in advanced manufacturing technologies. The university and the center shall collaborate with small and medium businesses participating in such program. Such program may include, but not be limited to, use of the university's or said center's facilities or equipment or access to university faculty, staff or students or staff of the center. The university and the center shall establish eligibility criteria for such program that shall include, but need not be limited to, minimum levels of contributions required from participating businesses. (c) For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, The University of Connecticut shall provide two hundred fifty thousand dollars of any appropriation for the program established in this section to the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology.
