On and after July 1, 2015, within available appropriations, the Office of Higher Education shall annually submit a report on teacher candidate demographics in teacher preparation programs leading to professional certification offered at institutions of higher education in the state to the State Board of Education and the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to education, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a. Such report shall include, but not be limited to, teacher candidate enrollment by subgroups, such as race, ethnicity and gender, with respect to the recruitment, preparation and retention of quality minority teachers, as defined in section 10-155l.
