Text
(1)The attorney general shall provide legal
services for the division and the commission at the request of the director or the
commission. The attorney general shall make reasonable efforts to ensure that
there is continuity in the legal services provided and that the attorneys providing
legal services to the division and the commission have expertise in the field.
(2)The director shall cause the attorney general to make investigations and
to prosecute and defend, on behalf of and in the name of the division, suits and
proceedings for any of the purposes necessary and proper for carrying out the
functions of the division.
(3)Expenses of the attorney general incurred in the performance of his or
her responsibilities under this section shall be paid from the lottery fund.
