(1)(a) If a
licensed powersports vehicle dealer has entered into a written agreement to sell a
dealership to a purchaser and the purchaser has been awarded a new franchise, the
board may issue a temporary powersports vehicle dealer's license to the purchaser
or prospective purchaser. The director shall issue the temporary license only after
the board has received the applications for both a temporary powersports vehicle
dealer's license and a powersports vehicle dealer's license, the appropriate
application fee for the powersports vehicle dealer's application, evidence of a
passing score of the written examination described in section 44-20-415, and
evidence that the franchise has been awarded to the applicant by the powersports
vehicle manufacturer.
