Text
It is the purpose of the Colorado
Medical Assistance Act to promote the public health and welfare of the people of
Colorado by providing, in cooperation with the federal government, medical and
remedial care and services for individuals and families whose income and resources
are insufficient to meet the costs of such necessary services and to assist such
individuals and families to attain or retain their capabilities for independence and
self-care, as contemplated by the provisions of Title XIX of the social security act.
The state of Colorado and its various departments, agencies, and political
subdivisions are authorized to promote and achieve these ends by any appropriate
lawful means, through cooperation with and the utilization of available resources of
the federal governme
