§ 23-21-202 — Definitions
As used in this part 2, unless the context otherwise requires:
(1)Committee means the sickle-cell anemia advisory committee.
(2)Sickle-cell anemia means an inherited blood disease caused by
abnormal hemoglobin (oxygen-carrying pigment) in the red blood cells, causing the
red blood cells to form a crescent or sickle shape when deprived of sufficient
oxygen.
