(1)The board shall establish a procedure for receiving nominations for appointments to the college advisory council and shall appoint a seven-member college advisory council for each community and technical college under its governance, composed of residents from the area in which the community and technical college is located and serves, which council shall meet at least quarterly with the chief administrative officer of the college. The board of trustees of any local district college shall be designated as the first college advisory council when such local district college joins the state system, and members thereof shall serve for the duration of their terms.
